From Summer to Spring in Australia Day 1- by Adelina Ang

Day 1: Singapore – Darwin

It was a Sunday, and I departed on 28 October, Sunday morning to Australia on a 9 days exciting trip!

Our first stop is to the summer outback Darwin, then to the Spring Port Lincoln and Adelaide.

Upon arrival, we visited Crocosaurus Cove. Ms Charli was already there waiting for us to bring us on a private tour before they close the place for the day. We were the only few people inside and we had her full attention. The crocodiles are really humongous, I must say! Too bad we didn’t get a chance to see any crocodile performances nor anyone trying out the Cage of Death, which is a crocodile dive experience. But we got a chance to carry the 3-month old baby crocodile, Fluffy. Fluffy did wriggle a little, which did give us a bit of a fright, but it he was still rather co-operative and nice to let us hold him.

We also had the honor to see the famous crocodile movie star, Burt, who was featured in the movie, “Crocodile Dundee”. At 5 feet long and at 80 years old, he still looks active and healthy!

Old, but still looking suave.

Beware of Burt! He’s a ladies-killer, literally.

After which, we went on to view the many different types of reptiles and also the smallest crocodile on earth. Well, his only friends are the turtles and they have been living happily together for the longest.

Stay tuned for many more days to come!
